{"id":3907,"date":"2012-07-10T10:29:26","date_gmt":"2012-07-10T14:29:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/?p=3907"},"modified":"2017-08-14T15:06:49","modified_gmt":"2017-08-14T19:06:49","slug":"june-goals-update-july-goals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/07\/10\/june-goals-update-july-goals\/","title":{"rendered":"June goals update + July goals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/2012-goals-monthly-checkup.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"2012 goals monthly checkup\" border=\"0\" alt=\"2012 goals monthly checkup\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/2012-goals-monthly-checkup_thumb.jpg\" width=\"236\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Whew\u2026 this month feels like it just started and all the sudden it is the 10th of July??&#160; Where is July going so fast?&#160; So before it gets any later, let me recap my goals for last month and make some new goals for this month.&#160; <em>You can see all my <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/tag\/goals-for-2012\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>past goal posts here<\/em><\/a><em>, my <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/01\/02\/goals-for-2012\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>initial detailed goal post in January<\/em><\/a><em>, plus my post on <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/01\/12\/12-home-goals-for-2012\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>12 Home goals for 2012 here.<\/em><\/a>&#160; <\/p>\n<p><strong>Monthly goals (goals to accomplish each month)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strike>Date nights every other week <\/strike>(Yep, did this!) <\/li>\n<li><strike>Find ways to better our marriage \u2013 notes, meaningful conversations, make his life easier<\/strike> (work in progress) <\/li>\n<li>Read 1 book each month (<em>STILL<\/em> haven\u2019t done this \u2013 I guess projects, shopping yard sales, spray painting, Pinterest, and blogging just overtake my spare time \u2013 maybe I can catch up this summer while on vacation) <\/li>\n<li>Do a monthly <a href=\"http:\/\/pinterest.com\/frugalhomemaker\/\">Pinterest<\/a> project and blog about it (somehow I missed this one this month although Pinterest inspires many projects that I do.&#160; I just didn\u2019t do a specific-Pinterest inspired or copycat project this month!)<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>January\u2019s project (<a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/02\/08\/pinterest-inspired-project-hanging-my-measuring-cups\/\">Hang my measuring cups)<\/a>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160; <\/li>\n<li>February\u2019s project (<a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/02\/27\/pinterest-inspired-project-clothespin-wreath\/\">Make a DIY Clothespin wreath)<\/a>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160; <\/li>\n<li>March project (<a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/03\/14\/3-00-spring-green-wreath-a-fun-invitation\/\">Spring Green wreath<\/a> and DIY plate hangers)&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160; <\/li>\n<li>April project (<a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/04\/14\/pinterest-and-yard-sale-inspired-frugal-fashion\/\">Pinterest inspired Frugal Fashion<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li><strike>Save a specific amount of $ towards our \u201cpay 75% cash for a car\u201d goal<\/strike>(DONE!) <\/li>\n<li><strike>Have guests in our home for a meal or overnight (having a hard time doing this so have just made it a goal to somehow show hospitality to others even if that is taking a meal to someone, etc.)<\/strike>&#160; (hosted a party) <\/li>\n<li>write and send at least 2 handwritten notes or cards (didn\u2019t get this done but I have several I need to do this month)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p><strong>June goals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strike>1. Put finishing decorating touches on our half bath<\/strike> and post a reveal&#160; &#8211;<em> DONE, just need to post it!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strike>2. Do my gallery wall<\/strike> and reveal it \u2013 <em>just need to reveal it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>3. <strike>Finish the 2nd piece of furniture in my garage, decorate,&#160; and reveal.<\/strike> <em>DONE \u2013 <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/06\/13\/20-flea-market-dresser-re-do-3\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>posted here.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/06\/13\/20-flea-market-dresser-re-do-3\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"beforeafter small white dresser\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/beforeafter-small-white-dresser_thumb.png\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>4. Put in my second mailbox flower bed and reveal both.&#160;&#160; <em>Soooo, it has been 100+ degrees most days \u2013 way too hot for me to do this.&#160; This might be a fall project.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>5. <\/em><strike>Make plans for YOU, my readers, to get together with me in July centered around yard sale\/thrift store shopping.<\/strike>&#160; <em>Did this on <a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/07\/09\/i-love-thrifting-day-recap-pictures-of-our-finds\/\" target=\"_blank\">Saturday for \u201cI love thrifting\u201d day<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/07\/09\/i-love-thrifting-day-recap-pictures-of-our-finds\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DSC_0164\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/DSC_0164_thumb.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>6.<strike>&#160; Attend a DIY\/Home blogging conference in Atlanta.&#160; <\/strike><em>HIGHLIGHT of the year for me.&#160; Posted my <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/06\/26\/haven-2012-recap-10-things-i-learned-about-blogging-2\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>recap of Haven conference here.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/06\/26\/haven-2012-recap-10-things-i-learned-about-blogging-2\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DSC_0445\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/DSC_0445_thumb.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>7. <strike>Host a \u201cFavorite Things party\u201d.<\/strike>&#160; <em>I did host this, but will have to wait till I have another one before I can share details.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>8. Make a new wreath \u2013 probably patriotic themed.<em> Didn\u2019t do this in June either, so moving this to July.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>13. <strong>Enjoy summer<\/strong><\/em> and all the activities, grilling, lazy days, playing in the water, popsicles and fun that it brings!&#160; <em>Working on this\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I also shared these posts in June:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/06\/20\/diy-jewelry-made-with-mod-podge\/\" target=\"_blank\">DIY jewelry made with Mod Podge podgeables<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/06\/20\/diy-jewelry-made-with-mod-podge\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Mod Podge jewelry\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Mod-Podge-jewelry_thumb.png\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/06\/05\/shopping-estate-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\">How to shop Estate sales<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/06\/05\/shopping-estate-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ann-sweet.com\/Quickstart\/ImageLib\/Petit_Sale_sign_flat.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Made some <a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/06\/27\/beach-inspired-art-sea-shell-art\/\" target=\"_blank\">beach inspired art<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/06\/27\/beach-inspired-art-sea-shell-art\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Beach inspired art\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Beach-inspired-art_thumb.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now I am going to be honest \u2013 <em>June was a crazy DIY month.<\/em>&#160; I haven\u2019t shared all these projects yet (but don\u2019t worry they are coming as soon as I can get pictures taken, edited, and posts written), but I put up a gallery wall, refinished a piece of furniture, completely transformed a bathroom, did a mini makeover in another bathroom, went to a 3 day conference, hosted an overnight guest, kept 3 kids for a week while their parents were out of town, hosted a party, and I am sure I spray painted a few things, among other things.&#160; <em>Just typing that list makes me tired!<\/em> <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-right-style: none\" class=\"wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile\" alt=\"Smile\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/wlEmoticon-smile4.png\" \/>&#160; So I am going to be taking things a little slower in July.&#160; For one, because we will be going on vacation and I plan to unplug as much as I can.&#160; And I won\u2019t have much time in preparing for vacation and then catching up when we get back to do any big projects.&#160; <\/p>\n<p><strong><em><font size=\"3\">Goals I hope to accomplish in July<\/font><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Make a new wreath.<\/li>\n<li>Make some envelope pillow covers and share a tutorial.<\/li>\n<li>Reveal several of my past projects to you.<\/li>\n<li>Organize the hall closet (need to fix a shelf that fell down) and reorganize our games.<\/li>\n<li>Help host\/decorate for a bridal shower.<\/li>\n<li>Spray paint and decorate with some of my new Goodwill\/yard sale finds.&#160; And of course show you <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-right-style: none\" class=\"wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-winkingsmile\" alt=\"Winking smile\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/wlEmoticon-winkingsmile1.png\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Start working on a photography class I signed up for.<\/li>\n<li>READ!&#160; Plan to do lots of reading while we are traveling and lounging by the pool\/beach on vacation.<\/li>\n<li>Decorate and post a new summer mantel (part 2)<\/li>\n<li>Keep looking for an old door and brainstorming ideas for my guest bedroom and master bedroom furniture.<\/li>\n<li>Take a break and enjoy some down time\/unplugging from the computer while on vacation with my hubby.&#160;&#160;&#160; (Bring back beach stuff to incorporate into my house!
