border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"DSC_0220\" border=\"0\" alt=\"DSC_0220\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0220_thumb.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You will remember that <a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/04\/18\/sprucing-up-the-outdoors-for-spring-front-porch-part-1paint-and-stain\/\" target=\"_blank\">I painted the rails white again<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/front-porch-button.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and I <a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/04\/18\/sprucing-up-the-outdoors-for-spring-front-porch-part-1paint-and-stain\/\" target=\"_blank\">re-stained the deck<\/a> back in April.&#160; You can see more in <a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/04\/18\/sprucing-up-the-outdoors-for-spring-front-porch-part-1paint-and-stain\/\" target=\"_blank\">this post.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0228-001.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; I have had this door mat for 5-6 years (bought from Kohl\u2019s) and I really liked it cause you could change out the center portion.&#160; Well, Kohl\u2019s doesn\u2019t carry those center pieces anymore but I have a few of them that are still in good condition so I can still use it.<\/p>\n<p>But the black rubber part had gotten rather faded.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0487.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"DSC_0487\" border=\"0\" alt=\"DSC_0487\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0487_thumb.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"437\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So of course, I grabbed my trusty can of <em>SPRAY PAINT<\/em>! <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-right-style: none\" class=\"wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile\" alt=\"Smile\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/wlEmoticon-smile4.png\" \/>&#160; (Seriously, spray paint is like <em><strong>magic in a can<\/strong><\/em>\u2026 I don\u2019t think I have found <em>anything <\/em>that CAN\u2019T <em>be fixed, refreshed, or transformed<\/em> with a little paint!&#160; I even used spray paint on some bridal shower decorations this weekend and they were amazing\u2013 but that is for a <em>future<\/em> post!)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0492.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; So this is what it looked like after some new paint and stain, after refreshing the door mat with some spray paint, and after <a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/04\/11\/sprucing-up-the-outdoors-for-spring-series-color-filled-flower-pots\/\" target=\"_blank\">adding my color-filled flower pots<\/a> (which are pots I us e every year but I refill with flowers in the spring.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0508.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; I had some yard sale profit burning a hole in my pocket and a plan\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I would love to have a front porch like this (<a href=\"http:\/\/pinterest.com\/pin\/29977153739178425\/\" target=\"_blank\">from Southern Living)<\/a> with room for a sitting area on the side.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto\" alt=\"Pinned Image\" src=\"http:\/\/media-cache3.pinterest.com\/upload\/29977153739178425_743Ob9Ap_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Or like this (loving that yellow door!) from <a href=\"http:\/\/pinterest.com\/pin\/174725660512630764\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Pinned Image\" src=\"http:\/\/media-cache7.pinterest.com\/upload\/174725660512630764_gcNsHhfc_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Or this <a href=\"http:\/\/pinterest.com\/pin\/273171533617178131\/\" target=\"_blank\">Craftsman style house with a big front porch (I ADORE<\/a><em><\/em> Craftsman style houses&#160; So time for me to make the best of the front porch I have.&#160; I really wanted some seating out here for a few reasons.&#160; I thought it would help create that welcoming, Southern feel I was wanting <em>PLUS<\/em> I am spending much more time out there watching these little ones play in the driveway.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0127.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"DSC_0127\" border=\"0\" alt=\"DSC_0127\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0127_thumb.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One downfall of my front porch is the door is all the way at the end.&#160; If it would have been at the beginning of the porch, I could have arranged a seating area maybe even put up a swing at the end.&#160; But that isn\u2019t possible with the door all the way at the end.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0509.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"DSC_0509\" border=\"0\" alt=\"DSC_0509\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0509_thumb.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So I started looking for benches \u2013 specifically narrow benches.&#160; I found the best deal at Home Depot but it was only available online (with <em>FREE<\/em> shipping!), so I ordered one and waited.<\/p>\n<p>Then I had fun putting it together (it was a little damaged so I had to wait for a replacement part.&#160; I have big plans for the damaged part \u2013 super excited about that!).&#160; Then it was time to \u201cdecorate\u201d my front porch!<\/p>\n<p>Here is the AFTER!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0893.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; The metal decorative wall hanging was something I had ordered from ABC distributing when I was still working and hadn\u2019t found a place for it yet.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0878.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; The plant was 50% clearance at Wal-mart last week \u2013 $1.61.&#160; And I made the pillows!!&#160; First time making simple envelope pillow covers and I was amazed at how EASY they were to do!&#160; <em>Full tutorial coming soon.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0890.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; The fabric was some 1 yard scraps I got at my favorite fabric store \u2013 Ohco.&#160; Each piece of fabric for the pillows probably cost $1.50-2.00 (they weigh by the pound so I don\u2019t know exactly but it was <em>cheap<\/em>) and I already had the pillow forms.&#160; I added some little fabric rosettes (first time making those too and I need to work on my technique) on the striped pillow with some scraps from the flowered pillow.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0879.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; of them on the side of the road a few years ago) but when I was working on the porch I realized I could use it.&#160; The little bird statue cage thing was a yard sale find from last year.&#160; I have some ivy in it that I hope will grow larger and fill it up.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSC_0892.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none;
