That is how stuff becomes outdated, because we decorate once and think we are \u2018done\u2019 But half the fun is knowing you will never be done! I LOVE the molding BTW. Beautiful!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>She is sooo right!\u00a0 You can\u2019t just decorate a room, say \u201cI\u2019m done!\u201d, and shut the door for the next 5 years.\u00a0 Style changes around you, your style changes, you find a great yard sale find that would go perfect in that room\u2026\u00a0 No, I am not saying constantly redecorate your entire house, but always be looking for little ways you can update, improve, and freshen your space.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_15801.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"DSC_1580\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_1580_thumb1.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_1580\" width=\"320\" height=\"480\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One of the little changes I had been wanting to make was to put something on the wall in between the two curtains.\u00a0 In fact, I knew what I wanted \u2013 I wanted plates!\u00a0 Preferably white plates maybe with a fun design or a square plate in the middle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_15551.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"DSC_1555\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_1555_thumb1.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_1555\" width=\"320\" height=\"480\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Enter <a href=\"http:\/\/www.justlaine.com\/2011\/01\/my-paint-colors.html\" target=\"_blank\">this picture<\/a> that I found a few weeks ago on <a href=\"http:\/\/pinterest.com\/frugalhomemaker\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pinterest<\/a> and it just happened to be from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.justlaine.com\/2011\/01\/my-paint-colors.html\" target=\"_blank\">my friend Laine\u2019s blog, It\u2019s Just Laine<\/a>.\u00a0 So I emailed her and asked her how she had put up the plates around the edges on the wall without plate hangers.\u00a0 You will never believe what she told me \u2013 <strong><em>large paperclips glued on the back!<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 <em>Brilliant, I tell you!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_y-YPNW4_ei8\/TUf_BXhGARI\/AAAAAAAAB2c\/OU86GOHNJk4\/s640\/IMG_7177-1.JPG\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And then enter these plates I found at Value Village.\u00a0 The smaller floral pattern plates were $0.80 each and the larger ridged plate was $1.21.\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>So $2.81 total.\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Under $3,<\/span> my type of project, just like my <a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2012\/03\/14\/3-00-spring-green-wreath-a-fun-invitation\/\" target=\"_blank\">$3.00 green spring wreath<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_1717.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"DSC_1717\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_1717_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_1717\" width=\"631\" height=\"480\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I asked Laine if she had used anything on the back besides the paperclip and she said no.\u00a0 I thought maybe some felt would help secure it to the plate, protect the wall, and give some added protection.\u00a0 She agreed.\u00a0 So I cut out some felt circles from some felt scraps I had, bent 3 large paper clips to be hangers, and glued them all on with lots and lots of hot glue! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_1718.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"DSC_1718\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_1718_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_1718\" width=\"640\" height=\"468\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can see on this plate how the paper clip is just sticking over the rim of the back of the plate so it makes a perfect hanger.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_1720.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"DSC_1720\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_1720_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_1720\" width=\"615\" height=\"480\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here are all 3 plates done.\u00a0 On the smaller plates I was able to glue more of the paper clip under the felt so only a small little circle is sticking out.\u00a0 And let me tell you, those paperclips and felt circles are not going anywhere!\u00a0 I tugged and pulled and yanked and they were firm as can be.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_1721.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"DSC_1721\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_1721_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_1721\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Now let me enter a disclaimer: <\/strong>I am not necessarily recommending that you hang your grandmother\u2019s antique china on your wall with hot glue and a paper clip.\u00a0 Nor am I recommending that you hang plates by this method in a high traffic area where they could get bumped.\u00a0 Nor am I suggesting that you hang them over a crib.\u00a0 Basically \u2013 this is what I did, it worked wonderfully for me, if you think it will work for you go right ahead, but you do so at your own risk.<\/em>\u00a0 \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>I used one of these little hook things from my IKEA picture hanging kit to make them even a little more secure.
