Sometimes it can seem like you don’t accomplish a lot in your home but it can be fun to look back and see before pictures and see what was really accomplished.  I encourage you to take some pictures in January and then look back at the end of the year and see what changes you made!  You can look back at my 2020 favorite projects here.<\/a><\/p>\n

So let’s take a look back at 2021 and my favorite projects completed in my home!<\/p>\n

January started out by working on a $100 room challenge makeover on my hallway<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Here’s how the hallway started:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I started by installing board and batten trim and shared the entire how-to here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

That made a huge change in the hallway!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I also did a sponge wall technique\/faux wallpaper just for fun.<\/a>  It had mixed reactions of whether people liked it or not, but it was easy and fun to do and could easily just throw a fresh coat of paint over it if I tire of it. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And then I shared the entire before\/after makeover of the hallway<\/a> – you’ll have to click over and see how I did on my $100 budget.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I love finally having family pictures displayed and this board and batten trim made a huge change in this small hallway.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Spring was on the horizon so I got a head start and created a simple green and white DIY spring wreath.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Then before the hot temperatures arrived, I gave our concrete back patio a makeover by painting the concrete.<\/a>  This has held up great and I think I may tackle the front porch this spring!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I shared my best tips for how to make your back patio or porch be an outdoor oasis<\/a> – we truly do love our outdoor spaces and use them constantly year-round.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Spring also inspired me to upcycle a large wood wire spool into 2 different projects.  <\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I couldn’t pass up this $3.00 solid wood twin headboard at the thrift store so I upcycled it into a shelf that could be used as a coffee bar shelf or towel rack shelf.  <\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I rounded up all my favorite Summer essentials in this post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I shared my favorite source for budget-friendly home decor.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Home decor does not have to be expensive!<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Then fall arrived and with it, I shared some early fall decor inspiration.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Decorating my porch for the season is always my favorite and this cozy fall front porch was fun!<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

October marked the 10 year anniversary of The Frugal Homemaker<\/a> and my career as a blogger – I recapped all my favorite projects, how I turned this into an income allowing me to stay at home\/work at home<\/a> and more in this post.<\/p>\n

I shared my cozy fall living room and home tour in this post.<\/a><\/p>\n

Over the years I have shared so many Christmas DIY projects – 40+ to be exact<\/a> – and I rounded them all up in this post.<\/p>\n

I love to create Charcuterie Boards  – in fact, we are having one for New Year’s Eve and I shared my best tips and links to all the supplies to create an easy family-friendly charcuterie board.<\/a><\/p>\n

I decorated my Christmas porch in a simple, yet festive way!<\/a><\/p>\n

I cannot wait to start tackling projects in 2022 – I have lots of ideas and projects I plan to do! <\/p>\n
