We\u2019ve started out January with some dreary\/rainy winter days so I don\u2019t know about you, but I need cozy, pretty spaces to ward off the winter blues inside my home.  I love using lots of my recent and previous Christmas clearance finds to decorate for winter and can\u2019t wait to show you my cozy neutral winter living room and mantel. <\/p>\n

I made that chalkboard on my mantel to use as part of my Christmas mantel<\/a> and I love the touch of black it adds to the room \u2013 I am seriously a bit obsessed with adding black to my home right now.  I love the depth and honestly the warmth that it adds with the rest of my neutral decor.  You can see my Christmas living room and mantel in this post<\/a> and I just simplified it a lot for winter.<\/p>\n

The wood beads came from the fall Hobby Lobby line and I have used them on my fall<\/a>, Christmas, and now winter mantel.  Love the subtle touch they add.  The candlesticks are from the recent 75% off Hobby Lobby clearance  – I bought them thinking I was going to paint them black but I actually really love them in the subtle gold in my home. <\/p>\n

The pine garland was a 90% off Target clearance find from last year and the wreath was a 90% off Hearth and Hand Christmas clearance from this year. <\/p>\n

This corner houses our tree during Christmas so it\u2019s always fun recreating this cozy corner space once the tree is gone. <\/p>\n

This may be my favorite view of our living room!<\/p>\n

The throw is actually a heated blanket that was my husband\u2019s Christmas present \u2013 love that it matches my decor and he is loving using it in the cold winter evenings.  I don\u2019t spend a lot of money on pillows at all \u2013 they are all either thrifted finds, clearance finds, or covers I buy cheap off Amazon or at Hobby Lobby and fill with thrifted feather inserts.  The cuddle weather pillow was 75% off Kirklands last year, snowflake was $1.99 90% off Target 2 years ago, and the home pillow is a cover from Amazon here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I have several buffalo check pillow covers that I use pretty much year round and they are a great deal from Amazon. <\/a> Most of my throw blankets are thrifted finds, with a few clearance finds mixed in.  The super chunky knit blanket was a Christmas present I asked for \u2013 most affordable one I have found and it\u2019s so cozy!<\/a><\/p>\n

Sweater pillow was 90% Target Hearth and Hand 2 years ago and the black and white one was a clearance find from Walmart this past spring.<\/p>\n

I leave out some of my evergreen faux trees for winter and I just picked up that black and white little sign at Kirkland\u2019s for $2 on clearance. <\/p>\n

Loving all the touches of black! Still trying to figure out a few more places I can add more black.<\/p>\n

This spot has changed a lot since last year after I rearranged our living room this past summer.  I basically switched the tv and the loveseat and it created a space that feels much bigger yet much more cozy. Tutorial for those shutters here<\/a> and hopefully finding a new tv stand will happen very soon \u2013 still debating trying to build one vs. just buying one? <\/p>\n

The Target dollar spot never disappoints and I loved this cute Cozy pillow they have for winter right now \u2013 make sure to check your stores!  The black and white pillow cover comes in a set of 2 and is an amazing buy -I use them all year long!<\/a><\/p>\n

I picked up this little sled on 80% off Hobby Lobby Christmas clearance and thought it would make a fun centerpiece tray for some winter decor on our coffee table. <\/p>\n

I have all our lamps set on plug-in timers and also changed out the candles in the fireplace with some candles on timers \u2013 love that they all come on as it starts to get dark (way too early!) and ward off the dreary long winter nights.  I love how cozy lamp light and candlelight can make a room<\/p>\n

I added some of my white houses I found on clearance this year too to this console table for winter along with some winter greens.  Tutorial for chicken wire backdrop here<\/a> and makeover of entryway cabinet here. <\/a><\/p>\n

So there\u2019s my cozy simplified neutral winter living room!  It will be easy when spring comes to just remove the winter greenery, a few of the pillows and add in some simple spring touches \u2013 bring on spring!  Except I really would like one good snowfall here in the south before that happens preferrably in January and then spring weather beginning in late February \"Winking.  Spring is obviously my favorite\u2026 but with a living room as cozy as this I think I can make it through the next 6-8 weeks or so of winter. <\/p>\n
