<\/a><\/p>\nI don\u2019t know about you but my front porch is one of my favorite places to decorate for each season. It just sort of sets the mood and feel for the rest of my house and says \u201cwelcome\u201d. When we moved to this house 3 years ago<\/a> one of the things I was very excited about was having a centered symmetrical front door and a good-sized front porch. Even though I love my symmetry I do try and mix up my Christmas decor each year and not keep it completely symmetrical.<\/p>\n I am a huge yard sale\/thrift shop shopper and my Christmas theme was mostly inspired by some fun finds I found over the summer \u2013 mainly a large vintage sled, some decorative skis, and an old set of ice skates. Perfect for a ski lodge-inspired Christmas theme!<\/p>\n Those large skis were a $5 yard sale find but originally came from Homegoods. I paired them with a $3 yard sale find wood sled I painted a few years ago and some of my favorite flocked trees<\/a> \u2013 seriously I love these little trees so much and would love to have quite a few more. The ski lodge sign was in the Walmart Christmas line \u2013 they had some incredible stuff this year! And the little sleigh ride sign was from the Target Dollar spot. I love mixing up my thrifted finds with some vintage finds and some inexpensive decor or clearance finds to create a beautiful space on a very small budget. <\/p>\n Over on this side of the porch is a few more trees (I am telling you I LOVE those flocked ones<\/a> but they come in green too<\/a>) and a vintage sled topped with another inexpensive Walmart sign. Those ice skates were $3 at a yard sale a few months ago and I was so excited to add a pair to my Christmas decor stash. No real use for them here in middle Georgia though \u2013 we just hope for a good 2-3 inches of snow one time a year. <\/p>\n Years ago I picked up 4 of these black lanterns at a yard sale for $1.00 each and they have been staples in my outdoor decor. The table and rocking chairs were all yard sale finds<\/a> \u2013 I love shopping yardsales, can you tell? I sure do love my front porch! <\/p>\n I don\u2019t usually add any decor in this little corner by the swing but this year I did and it\u2019s so festive!<\/p>\n There are not many days that I don\u2019t spend at least 5-10 minutes swinging in this swing \u2013 it\u2019s my favorite spot outside!<\/p>\n I love snipping some fresh greens from the yard to tuck here and there all throughout the decor on the porch. If we have cold enough weather they will last through Christmas. <\/p>\n Here\u2019s a shot of our whole house, I always forget to capture the whole house and all the wreaths on the windows. <\/p>\n Of course, the magic really happens when it starts to get dark and all the lights are on\u2026<\/p>\n I keep battery operated candles on timers in the lanterns all the time so they turn on each night with the lights\u2026 but for pictures, real ones always show up a bit better. <\/p>\n There is nothing like coming home to Christmas lights and candlelight..
