It\u2019s week 2 of the $100 room challenge and I am back with a simple project that made a big difference!\u00a0 So this is how the room looked last week before I started working on anything\u2026<\/p>\n

And here\u2019s how it looks now!\u00a0\u00a0 (With a bit of different lighting since I took in the evening with lights on instead.)\u00a0 I made some simple picket fence headboards for both of the twin beds and they are just adorable!<\/p>\n

\"Picket<\/p>\n

If you follow my blog, you\u2019ll remember that I went and picked up a truckload of white picket fence panels and pieces that someone advertised for free on facebook marketplace<\/a>.\u00a0 I used a gate portion on my fall mantel<\/a>, panels on my fall porch<\/a> and more panels on my Christmas porch<\/a>.\u00a0 I have shared some with some friends and also have a few more projects in mind too.\u00a0 But I also knew that this was one\u00a0project I wanted to do with them too!<\/p>\n

\"Picket<\/p>\n

I had already cut an 8-foot panel in half and pressure washed back in the fall so all I had to do for this was give them a quick fresh coat of white paint and place them behind the bed.\u00a0 I haven\u2019t secured to the bed frame but when I pull everything out to paint the baseboards I may secure them to the metal bed frame if I can.\u00a0 But they don\u2019t move since the bed just holds them tight up against the wall.<\/p>\n

\"Picket<\/p>\n

I could have moved the pickets next to each other to create more of a solid look and who knows maybe down the road I will\u2026 but I like this look too.\u00a0 Such a fun, cottagey, whimsical look for a girls room.\u00a0 And could totally work for a boys room maybe painted darker or stained to create more of a rustic look.<\/p>\n

\"Picket<\/p>\n

We had a busy week this past week with lots of company and late nights \"Winking\u00a0 so I plan to get lots more done on the room in this coming week \u2013 hopefully, all the paint touchups, trim painted, furniture painted.<\/p>\n
