display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"Farmhouse style Christmas front porch with picket fences-11\" src=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Farmhouse-style-Christmas-front-porch-with-picket-fences-11.jpg\" alt=\"Farmhouse style Christmas front porch with picket fences-11\" width=\"650\" height=\"764\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I thought I\u2019d step back first and show you the previous 2 years Christmas porches so you can see how I reuse some of my decor from year to year but rearrange it to create a different look.<\/p>\n<p>This was <a href=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2016\/12\/05\/farmhouse-christmas-front-porch-with-hdcholidayhomes-tour\/\">2 years ago \u2013 our first Christmas in our new home<\/a>.\u00a0 We had just had the house painted during the fall, cleaned out all the massive landscaping so I was so excited to deck the porch with Christmas decor!\u00a0 I worked with Home Depot\/Home Decorators Collection that year and got those outdoor porch trees, the wreath, and the greenery for over the door.\u00a0 I love all of those pieces \u2013 the wreath and garland both have battery operated timer LED lights.\u00a0 I love the symmetry of having 2 trees on either side of the door and almost did that again this year but I wanted to create a new look to show you too. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"DSC_0142\" src=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/DSC_0142.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0142\" width=\"650\" height=\"732\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This was the year<a href=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2016\/12\/09\/make-an-inexpensive-christmas-pillow-from-a-placemat\/\"> I made those pillows for my rocking chairs (rocking chairs all found at yard sales\/marketplace over the span of a few months) out of placemats I found at <\/a>Kohl\u2019s.\u00a0 They are soft and fuzzy and I love the plaid look!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"DSC_0192\" src=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/DSC_0192.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0192\" width=\"650\" height=\"880\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The next year I changed up the decor a bit and it SNOWED in early December here in the deep south to create my <a href=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2017\/12\/11\/snowy-southern-christmas-front-porch\/\">Snowy Southern Christmas front porch!!<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"Snowy Southern Christmas Front Porch-13\" src=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Snowy-Southern-Christmas-Front-Porch-13.jpg\" alt=\"Snowy Southern Christmas Front Porch-13\" width=\"650\" height=\"830\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That porch will probably go down as my all-time favorite Christmas front porch because I am not sure I will ever be able to see snow falling with my Christmas front porch again.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"Snowy Southern Christmas Front Porch-4\" src=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Snowy-Southern-Christmas-Front-Porch-4.jpg\" alt=\"Snowy Southern Christmas Front Porch-4\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I used <a href=\"http:\/\/go.shopyourlikes.com\/pi\/6bcc91f34d73838b1c50de7f2613e30d02535d7b?afId=633527&amp;afCreativeId=2996\">this 6 foot flocked tree outside that year (amazing deal form Walmart \u2013 love this tree!)<\/a> and stuck it in an outdoor planter and did groupings of various decor on either side of the door.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The matching porch trees from the year before I used in between my rocking chairs as I did again this year.\u00a0 I love spreading the decor and the lights throughout the whole porch so this works well.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"Snowy Southern Christmas Front Porch-21\" src=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Snowy-Southern-Christmas-Front-Porch-21.jpg\" alt=\"Snowy Southern Christmas Front Porch-21\" width=\"650\" height=\"975\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nSo back to this year\u2019s porch!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; border: 0px currentcolor; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"Farmhouse style Christmas front porch with picket fences-19\" src=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Farmhouse-style-Christmas-front-porch-with-picket-fences-19.jpg\" alt=\"Farmhouse style Christmas front porch with picket fences-19\" width=\"650\" height=\"905\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Back at the end of the summer I found a listing for piles of free wood picket fence panels and went and picked up a truckload of them!\u00a0 I have enjoyed sharing some with some friends and also have many projects planned for them too.\u00a0 I used a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2018\/09\/28\/cozy-and-neutral-farmhouse-fall-tour\/\">big gate piece over my mantel for fall<\/a> and I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll see that appear again inside sometime soon. I actually plan to use these 2 panels in a project as soon as I can get time after the holidays to tackle it but they were on my front porch from my fall porch so I decided to incorporate them for Christmas too!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"Farmhouse style Christmas front porch with picket fences-3\" src=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Farmhouse-style-Christmas-front-porch-with-picket-fences-3.jpg\" alt=\"Farmhouse style Christmas front porch with picket fences-3\" width=\"650\" height=\"975\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On one side I did an idea I\u2019ve seen around using letters on a ladder.\u00a0 I\u2019ve had these NOEL letters for years \u2013 they are just the paper mache letters from Hobby Lobby I spray painted red and usually use over a doorway or someplace inside.\u00a0 I put some garland and lights on the top of the picket fence and I love it all lit up at night.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"Farmhouse style Christmas front porch with picket fences-28\" src=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Farmhouse-style-Christmas-front-porch-with-picket-fences-28.jpg\" alt=\"Farmhouse style Christmas front porch with picket fences-28\" width=\"650\" height=\"975\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I used the <a href=\"http:\/\/go.shopyourlikes.com\/pi\/277a8c6b71b68661c7a4366fe1112a3ad11698a5?afId=633527&amp;afCreativeId=2996\">famous little-flocked trees from Walmart on either side too<\/a> \u2013 I have one 3 foot and 4 foot one \u2013 I was able to find one of those after Christmas clearance last year and I am hoping to find one more this year so I can have two of one of the sizes.\u00a0 These are so good to use outside or inside and I just love the look.\u00a0 I made that JOY sign years ago \u2013 it\u2019s an easy and inexpensive project to make and makes a big impact!\u00a0 And that wood sleigh I found this year at a yard sale but it was quite unattractive \u2013 all brown wood, with old yucky greenery glued to the front.\u00a0\u00a0 I painted the rails red and added a cute Christmas wreath instead and I just love it!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"Farmhouse style Christmas front porch with picket fences-6\" src=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Farmhouse-style-Christmas-front-porch-with-picket-fences-6.jpg\" alt=\"Farmhouse style Christmas front porch with picket fences-6\" width=\"643\" height=\"975\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I love using these large lanterns at the edge of the porch for fall and Christmas and keep battery operated candles in them that come on every night for few hours.\u00a0 Just tucking in some fresh greenery from the year adds so much!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"Farmhouse style Christmas front porch with picket fences-7\" src=\"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Farmhouse-style-Christmas-front-porch-with-picket-fences-7.jpg\" alt=\"Farmhouse style Christmas front porch with picket fences-7\" width=\"650\" height=\"975\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The matching trees are in between the rocking chairs again along with my placemat pillows \u2013 3rd year for those and still going strong!
