I just couldn\u2019t pass it up for $6!&nbsp; I never did find a place for it in our last home and so it sat in the garage.&nbsp; When we moved I *almost* sold this instead of moving it but I really did love this little table and hoped I could find someplace to use it in our new home.&nbsp; And I\u2019m so glad I kept it!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"$6 gray nightstand for the guest room\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DSC_0699.jpg\" alt=\"$6 gray nightstand for the guest room\" width=\"650\" height=\"975\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>Because this is how it looks now!&nbsp; I needed a small nightstand for this side of the bed in the guest room to just pull the bed out a little bit from the wall and give a place for a lamp and this table was perfect!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"$6 gray nightstand for the guest room\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DSC_0849.jpg\" alt=\"$6 gray nightstand for the guest room\" width=\"650\" height=\"910\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>The top and front was a bit rough so I sanded all that smooth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"$6 gray nightstand for the guest room\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DSC_0696.jpg\" alt=\"$6 gray nightstand for the guest room\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s a question I get a lot is do I sand before I paint especially when I am using chalk paint.&nbsp; The only parts I sand are damaged areas \u2013 knicks, scratches, dents, paint drips, and just general yuckiness.&nbsp; You have to start with a smooth surface but you don\u2019t have to sand all the paint off or go down to the raw wood \u2013 you are just wanting to smooth anything rough.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Then I applied 2 coats of <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2ko9HuT\" target=\"_blank\">Rustoleum Country Gray Chalked paint<\/a> (affiliate link).&nbsp; I love this color and the way paint covers and goes on so well.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"$6 gray nightstand for the guest room\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DSC_0859.jpg\" alt=\"$6 gray nightstand for the guest room\" width=\"650\" height=\"448\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"$6 gray nightstand for the guest room\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DSC_0861.jpg\" alt=\"$6 gray nightstand for the guest room\" width=\"650\" height=\"411\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>I also gave the handle a quick coat of <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2japMiR\" target=\"_blank\">Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint<\/a> (affiliate link).&nbsp; I may eventually switch this handle out with something more fun but it looks so much better just cleaned up!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"$6 gray nightstand for the guest room\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DSC_0851.jpg\" alt=\"$6 gray nightstand for the guest room\" width=\"650\" height=\"970\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>The guest room is looking so much better!&nbsp; I have one or two more projects I want to complete in here and then phase 1 of this room will be done!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px;
