{"id":14363,"date":"2018-03-12T05:00:45","date_gmt":"2018-03-12T09:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/?p=14363"},"modified":"2018-03-10T16:34:34","modified_gmt":"2018-03-10T21:34:34","slug":"welcome-spring-sign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/2018\/03\/12\/welcome-spring-sign\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome Spring sign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Are you as ready for spring as I am?\u00a0 I always start getting that spring fever come the middle of February when we are teased with a few warmer days here in the South and long for when they are here to stay.\u00a0 Of course this year spring teased us a bit in February and now winter has come back with a vengeance in March.\u00a0 But spring is still coming!!\u00a0 So while we wait I thought I would share you how bringing in some spring colors and spring d\u00e9cor helps tide me over until spring is here for real.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"DSC_0843\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/DSC_0843.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0843\" width=\"725\" height=\"1017\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I actually created this rustic pallet sign for the DecoArt blog right before we moved a year ago so if you read my blog. you&#8217;ll recognize this mantel and living room from our previous home.\u00a0 \u00a0I loved this project so thought I would share it with you here too.<\/p>\n<p>My supplies included: (Affiliate links included for your convenience)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2tzH7fh\">Americana Acrylic paint<\/a> in Pansy Lavender, Foliage Green, Turquoise Blue, Poodleskirt Pink, Spa Blue, Hauser Light Green, Snow Titanium White<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2ty4XrR\">Americana D\u00e9cor Chalky Finish<\/a> in Everlasting and Charcoal<\/li>\n<li>some <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2oWuWEL\">chipboard pendant flags<\/a><\/li>\n<li>jute twine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"DSC_0839\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/DSC_0839.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0839\" width=\"725\" height=\"517\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And I also chose to hang my pendants on a pallet wood background \u2013 you could either display this banner across a window, across a wood background like this or just hang it from your mantel.\u00a0 \u00a0 The pallet slats were secured together in the back with 2 pallet slats screwed vertically across all the horizontal slats, painted with white chalky finish paint, and then lightly distressed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"DSC_0836\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/DSC_0836.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0836\" width=\"725\" height=\"483\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I painted 6 of the pendant flags with the various spring colors of Americana acrylic paint.\u00a0 \u00a0I hand painted the letters \u201cSpring\u201d on the pendants \u2013 you could use a stencil if you wish.\u00a0 The good thing about this is can be completely reversible and interchangeable.\u00a0 The same number of letters are in \u201cEaster\u201d and \u201cSummer\u201d so you could paint the back of the pendants and make it reversible for different seasons\/holidays.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"DSC_0841\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/DSC_0841.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0841\" width=\"725\" height=\"483\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I used the charcoal paint to hand letter \u201cWelcome\u201d on the top of the pallet wood background.\u00a0 I just love using jute twine for banners and it seems perfect for spring.\u00a0 String them together on some twine and secure to the background and you are done!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"DSC_0847\" src=\"http:\/\/thefrugalhomemaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/DSC_0847.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0847\" width=\"725\" height=\"471\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Easy and perfect for spring!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none;
