Love the grey paint.

wow! yes, I really need to paint a piece of furniture black. I keep saying that and seeing pictures I love but haven’t done it yet.

me too! I have really only used DecoArt chalky finish paint and Rustoleum Chalked paint. I have never used any of the higher end chalky type paint. Between those two I like them both. I have used both on furniture too. They both work well.

they sell a clear sealer – sort of like a poly but meant to be used over chalk paint. I agree – not a huge fan of wax!

Not necessarily. I have done it all – used regular latex paint, used chalk paint, used a roller, a foam roller, and a brush. I do think with latex paint if you use a brush vs a roller you see a lot more brush strokes so I tend to use a roller. With chalk paint I have almost always used a brush and there is virutally not brush marks. My preference is probably chalk paint and brush 🙂

I recently overhauled a table and it was an awful experience. I took it to a “professional” and he agreed it was trying. I have better luck with staining but like a painted finish better.
Thank you!

Your table looks great. Now I really can’t wait to get started. I’m going to paint an old bookcase for our guest room.

I love painting with chalk paint, but not so much covering it with the wax 😉
